Baby, baby, baby

Well, it's all over now folks. Shante Karen Butler has finally arrived and joined our little family! We are both so excited to be parents and absolutely love her. She certainly did not bore us with her grand entrance into the world. It's a pretty good story. On Friday the 17th I got home from work and Ruthy and I decided to go walk around the mall as we had a few times prior to try and get labor moving along. We walked around for a few hours, but nothing real exciting happened. We went home and had dinner and hung around the house for awhile. About 9:30 that night we decided to go back out to Wal-Mart and give it another try. We walked laps for a few hours around the store before giving up for the night and heading home. We had just got settled into bed for the night when Ruthy started having contractions pretty close together. She stood up by the bed and her water broke! I looked up and said "Are you serious?!". Obviously she was and we hurried to the hospital! She changed and got set up in the delivery room and they hooked up her IV and everything. The nurse checked her soon after we walked in and she was dilated to a four. The nurse went out of the room to do paperwork and call our doctor and Ruthy started to have VERY intense contractions. She yelled that she felt she had to push, but was obviously worried about doing so. I ran out into the hall and told the nurse and she came back in quickly. Ruthy was then dilated to an eight only fifteen minutes after being at a four. The nurse stayed calm and said to try not to push and ran back out to try calling the doctor again. The next contraction Ruthy had we could see her starting to come! I ran (frantically and freaking out, but trying to be calm) to the hall and yelled that she was coming. Four nurses ran into the room. Ruthy had one long push and Shante was out!! The nurse helped to support the babies head, but technically the bed delivered her as she slid out and right on to the bed! It was amazing. Our doctor didn't actually show up until about 15 minutes after the actual delivery. It all just went so fast! She weighed 7lbs and 10oz and is 20in long! She was born at 12:51am on April 18th! The kicker to the story is that Ruthy had fully planned on having an epidurl for the pain and was then forced to do it naturally. I swear, I have never been more proud of someone in my life. She is amazing and did what she had to do to bring our beautiful daughter into the world. I was in shock at how quickly it had happened and what a fantastic job she had done. She was out, they cleaned her up and handed her to us. We were so happy to have her here and to see what a beautiful baby she is. We can't imagine life without her now. Here are some pictures.

Jordan Turns 21!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jordan! Yesterday was Jordan's 21st birthday!! The original plan was to go to Vegas for the weekend but since we have Shante on the way it just didn't work out! So I ended up making him his favorite dinner, chicken enchiladas and spanish rice! I also made him his favorite cake, yellow cake with rainbow frosting! After dinner we went shopping and he got to spend his birthday money! It was all around a good day and it was fun spending it with him! He didn't end up going to work so we could hang out all day! Plus we had a Dr. apt! Happy Birthday babe!! Love you so much!!!

Baby Shower!

So I had my baby shower a couple weeks ago! It was so much fun and I got a lot of good stuff! I was so busy opening presents that I wasn't paying attention to taking pictures! This is the only picture I took, Jordan's grandma made me this beautiful quilt! I seriously love it that I don't even want to use it! Just want to keep it nice and baby fluid free! LOL!! Once we have a bedroom for her I plan on decorating in a Noah's Ark theme, so I can finally get all my giraffe's out of storage! Just want to say thanks to everyone who came and sent presents! Love you all!!

My Husband!!!

My husband is the best husband ever! He has been so amazing throughout this pregnancy! He did the dishes the whole first trimester because the smell of them made me puke! He helps with the laundry and all the cleaning too! Second trimester I got a virus and he was right there making sure I was ok! Now that I'm in my third trimester and I'm huge and can't move as easy and my body is getting ready for the baby to come he has given me many massages, back rubs, and always makes sure I'm comfortable! Right now at this very moment he is out on his way to sonic to get me a drink since that is my craving lately! He has put up with my craziness and has been so amazing! We are both really excited for Shante to be here! Everyday we get closer it gets more exciting! We will keep you all posted on when she will be here! I LOVE JORDAN!!!!!!!!

I love to see his projects and see how his teachers boast about them! We now have a calling in the primary teaching the 5 yr olds! We are definitely learning patience but its lots of fun! Christmas!!!!

This was our first Christmas together! We spent it with Jordan's family! We stayed at his parents house Christmas Eve and did all of his families traditions. It was a lot of fun. Normally each year the kids get to open a book and pajamas on Christmas Eve, this year his mom decided to do blankets instead of pajamas. Well I still wanted to have pajamas so I had Jordan's grandma help me make some matching pajama pants and I bought BYU shirts to match. I also got a pink outfit for baby Shante. That's whats on my belly in the pics! They turned out really good and very comfortable. We also got a book and blanket too from his mom. This was for sure the best first Christmas ever! We played santa for each other and it was fun surprising Jordan as well as being surprised. Its been awhile since I've had a Christmas when I didn't know what I was getting. Jordan spoiled me! Jordan was very cute after I went shopping and he couldn't wait to find out what he was getting! It was fun watching him open his girfts! We also made a stocking for Shante and has some stocking stuffers for her. It was just an excuse for me to be able to buy some cute baby girl stuff! All in all it was an amazing Christmas, it was also fun to have little kids around and see them open there presents. His little siblings are so cute!

This was all the loot santa brought us. You can see Shante's stocking in the middle!
